Ring Of Fire – Legendary Hometown MMA Promotions #1

Ring of Fire was a Mix Martial Arts Event and promotional company that held 44 events, almost exclusively in Colorado between the years 2000-2013.

They last held an event in February 2013 and official records show that they hosted approximately 259 professional matches. Although the promotion no longer exists in its current form, the shows were legendary in the Colorado MMA community.

Sven Bean was the lead promoter of Ring Of Fire. He would then rebrand under Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA). Under that banner, he would acquire Titan Fighting Championships (Titan FC). As a result of the Legacy Fighting Championship and Resurrection Fighting Alliance merger in early 2017, they would form the now famous UFC feeder promotion Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFC).

One famous name that made her way to the UFC via Ring of Fire was American mixed martial artist and model Michelle Waterson. Waterson made her MMA debut at ‘Ring of Fire 28: Evolution’ against Andrea Miller, on February 16, 2007. She would start her successful MMA career by winning the fight by unanimous decision.

Perhaps the most famous name to cut his teeth in Ring of Fire, was Colorado native Brendan Schaub. The American podcast host and stand-up comedian fought 3 of his first 4 fights in 2008-2009 with the promotion before heading for a career in the UFC. Although his MMA career would never reach the heights many thought his potential would bring, Schaub has developed a monster career as a respected presenter and host in the entertainment industry.
